Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt Teams Up with Tempe FroYo Run to Benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation February 18

The FroYo Run – produced by 131 Event Productions – invites Valley residents to “Lace Up and Swirl” for a cause on February 18. This family-friendly event will offer 5K and 10K races, a costume contest, gummy bear toss and of course, delicious guilt-free treats from Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt at the finish line, with donations and a percentage of proceeds from race registrations benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation.

To put the cherry on top of the post-Valentine’s Day weekend, a wedding close to Zoyo’s and the FroYo Run’s hearts will take place just before the race, on February 17. Local couple, Michelle Fries and Josh Grygor became engaged at last year’s event and are tying the knot in concert with the run, to commemorate it. Zoyo will cater the happy couple’s (runners’) wedding on Friday before heading off to the races on Saturday.

Meet our Franchisees – Deron Manwaring

Are franchise businesses small businesses? Not all franchised businesses are small businesses by every Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt franchise location, including Zoyo in Warsaw and Ft. Wayne are owned and operated by a local small business owner. So in the case of Zoyo, yes they are a local small business and should be celebrated on Small Business Saturday.

Meet Daren Manwaring, local small business owner.

screen-shot-2016-11-23-at-4-29-21-pm

Deron worked his way through the ranks at a publicly traded manufacturing company from customer service representative to national sales and marketing manager before taking on the new challenges of small business ownership.

Deron brings a wealth of expertise from his background in marketing to his two locations in Indiana as well as his ability to build relationships within the public and private sectors in the communities in which his stores do business.  Deron was the first franchisee to join Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt but he was ready to be his own boss and to be the reason he succeeded or failed.

Meet our Franchisees – Joe and Emily Verbeke

Local small businesses that are celebrated on Small Business Saturday come in all shapes and sizes, including franchise businesses such as Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt.  Franchise locations across the US are owned and operated by small business owners and make up the fabric of a community’s dynamic and vibrant local neighborhood businesses.  The Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt location in Troy is not an exception but rather an example one of Troy’s many great small businesses.

Meet Joe and Emily Verbeke, local small business owners.

Though Emily grew up working in her family’s manufacturing business, both she and Joe started their careers in education.  Before leaving his teaching job, Joe taught music for 11 years in Michigan and Colorado and Emily is currently a school psychologist.

Having a background in education, both Joe and Emily know that schools are the cornerstone of every community and so they have focused much of their time and effort of developing partnerships with schools and education-related organizations through donations, fundraising opportunities, and health and wellness fairs in and around the Troy community.

Emily and Joe have brought a passion for learning effective business operations and especially local marketing.  They have stayed up to date with trends on the various social media platforms and they are typically the first to try new marketing strategies within the franchise, and constantly develop new content to encourage franchise and single-store development.

Not everyone considers a franchisee a small business owner or a franchise business location as a local small business but for Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt franchise locations across the US, they are the true examples of small business owners and local small businesses.

Meet Craig and Robin Kovel, local small business owners.

screen-shot-2016-11-23-at-4-28-39-pmCraig grew up in a family that owned a small retail chain and worked in the corporate world for 10 years in sales and marketing with a wireless company.  The couple opened and grew their own retail wireless business in the Atlanta area and sold it 18 years later hoping to find an opportunity that suited Robin’s strengths.

Craig and Robin have brought a one-two punch to Zoyo that has implemented a very successful school partnership called Zoyo Supports Education, an operational eye fro detail in their store and some innovate ideas that have further developed Zoyo’s already stunning proprietary yogurt recipe book.

Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt has an idea to make your open enrollment period for benefits a big hit with your employees.  Have Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt cater a “CELEBRATION STATION” of yogurt and toppings to your benefits meeting or employee meetings.

The Zoyo catering program allows for you to pick the number of servings that you want and choose the toppings to let employees make their own unique desert creation at a yogurt bar that is set up at your offices.  Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt will produce all the servings in 6oz or 8oz servings and you can choose from a variety of flavors that include non-fat, no sugar added and sorbets, which are dairy-free and vegan.  You also have a choice in the toppings to have chocolate, candy, nuts and fruit as toppings to make sure you are appealing to every dietary need with your employees and they can choose a healthy option.

Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt can deliver the yogurt celebration station to your offices or can do a full-service offering and man the tables, distribute the yogurt and clean up with no additional effort or work for you or your staff.  Zoyo caters to a variety of company and organizational functions through out the year for employee celebrations, meetings, parties and vendor events.  The success of last year’s benefit open enrollment has made our yogurt celebration station a hit with companies looking to acknowledge and celebrate employees during this process.

Frozen Yogurt Chain Undergoes Cool POS Transition

Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt manages sales, inventory in real-time with NCR Silver®

DULUTH, Ga., August 22nd, 2016 – Looking to gain a competitive edge in the crowded frozen yogurt market, the Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt team adopted NCR Silver Pro Restaurant Edition as its cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system.

Before switching to the system, Zoyo’s corporate stores used a cumbersome POS system that required extensive training and expensive software updates. Now, they have a scalable solution that all employees can quickly learn and use.

NCR Silver Restaurant Pro Edition provides advanced options for multi-site food service businesses. Users can split checks, keep up with table availability, and create tabs to make payments more flexible. Zoyo managers use it for integrated customer loyalty, event-based promotions and more.

Zoyo also uses NCR Silver Console, an add-on service that manages employee scheduling, provides up-to-date sales information, and tracks inventory.

“Before NCR Silver, we waited until the end of the week to view sales numbers, then held a meeting to discuss inventory and promotional activities. By the time we acted on it, the data was already old,” said Robert Schiller, president and CEO of Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt. “Now, we can view sales trends any time, on-site or remote. This helps us make smarter decisions every day.”

Since being founded in 2010, the Phoenix-based business has opened 21 franchise and corporate stores in Arizona, Texas, Indiana, Michigan and Georgia.

To learn more about NCR Silver’s features, visit www.ncrsilver.com, or call 1-877-630-9711. NCR Small Business provides live, 24/7 U.S.-based customer support for NCR Silver users. NCR Silver mobile POS runs in the cloud, uses consumer-friendly technology, works on Apple® devices running the latest iOS, and offers a POS solution catered to franchises as well.
